The Los Angeles Rams finally seemed to shake off some of their funk when they put up a solid 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers in Week 6.

The Rams have largely struggled the past few weeks –particularly the offense– but against a reeling Panthers squad they put together great drives in the second half that may indicate brighter days are ahead.

Things haven’t gone Los Angeles’ way to begin the 2022 season, but in the latest episode of “Straight Off The Press,” Jalen Ramsey said he thinks the team is still in a good position despite all the adversity:

“Even though the season hasn’t gone as planned so far, we are really in a good spot as a team right now,” Ramsey said. “We are 3-3, and in two weeks when we come back to SoFi and play San Fran, we will be playing for the No. 1 spot in the division – in essence, in the middle of the season, which is a good spot to be in for the time being. Not where we necessarily want to be in, but it is a good spot to be in.”

So far, the Rams have managed to earn wins over middling teams like the Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals and Panthers but their three losses have come at the hands of teams expected to make the playoffs in the Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys. With that kind of split, it’s an open question as to whether or not L.A. themselves should be considered postseason threats at this juncture but at least fans know they should beat the opponents they’re expected to.

The good news is that the bye week will give guys a chance to rest as well as allow players who have been out with injuries to make their returns for Week 8. With the 49ers on deck, the Rams need to be near full strength if they hope to win such a pivotal matchup.
