The Columbus Blue Jackets need some blue help, and Carson Soucy could earn a contract
Mark Scheig: Things are pointing to the Columbus Blue Jackets signing Carson Soucy to a contract (he’s been at camp on the PTO). The Blue Jackets could use some defensemen with Dante Fabbro and Damon Severson injured.
Blue Jackets coach Rick Bowness said again today how well Soucy’s play at camp has been: “He’s still here because we’ve been very happy with what he’s done. He’s played very well. He’s what we need.”
It’s also possible that a defenseman could be involved in the rumored Kirill Marchenko trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Larkin’s trade list is now expanded to around eight teams, according to Elliotte Friedman’s report on Friday. Larkin does understand that this is going to take longer than he expected.
