Sunday marked the deadline for NFL teams to cut their roster down to 53 players for the start of the regular season and with that being the case, the Los Angeles Rams announced they have waived the following players:
Nick Andersen, A.J. Arcuri, Austin Blaske, Jack Bouwmeester, Wyatt Bowles, Dean Connors, Alex Cook, Devean Deal, Tru Edwards, Nyzier Fourqurean, Steven Gilmore, Al’zillion Hamilton, Bryce Henderson, Nikhai Hill-Green, Tanner Ingle, Rohan Jones, Tim Keenan III, Cam Lampkin, Jaxson Moi, Elias Neal, Bill Norton, Darryl Peterson III, Brennan Presley, Tyler Scott, Nate Valcarcel, Dan Villari, Jordan Waters and Payton Zdroik.
The Rams also terminated vested veterans Alex Bachman, Tomon Fox, Blake Hance, Larrell Murchison and Monty Rice, while waiving Alex Johnson with an injury.
L.A. also placed Matthew Caldwell, Keagen Trost and Justin Dedich on injured reserve and traded Mark Redman to Green Bay in exchange for a 2028 seventh-round pick. All-in-all, the Rams made 35 subtractions to set their initial 53-man roster for the 2026 season.
Given how deep the Rams’ roster is, there were some surprises here. Chief among them is Connors, who scored three touchdowns during the preseason after going undrafted. The running back has a lot of upside, but the Rams are already deep at the position with Kyren Williams, Blake Corum and Ronnie Rivers.
Some other notable names to get cut include Lampkin and Keenan, the latter being the Rams’ seventh-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft.
It’s important to note that this is just the initial 53-man roster and things will change throughout the year. The Rams could make additional moves before their regular-season opener against the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 10.
It will also be interesting to see if any of the players the Rams cut will get claimed, which is likely considering there is a lot of talent there. If not though, a lot of them could end up on L.A.’s 17-man practice squad to begin the year in order to continue developing in the organization.
