The Los Angeles Dodgers roster for the 2025 National League Division Series consists of 11 pitchers, 14 position players and Shohei Ohtani in his two-way role.

While the Dodgers roster for the NLDS features the same number of pitchers from the Wild Card round, Edgardo Henriquez and Justin Wrobleski are not part of the group. As manager Dave Roberts indicated would be the case, Anthony Banda and Clayton Kershaw were added onto the roster.

That gives the Dodgers five left-handers in their bullpen to face a left-handed heavy Philadelphia Phillies lineup.

The Dodgers also have an extra member of their bullpen to begin the series, lessening the need for another full-time relief pitcher. Tyler Glasnow is scheduled to start Game 4, but due to the extra off day and stretch where he has not pitched, the right-hander is available out of the bullpen Game 1 and potentially Game 2.

Even with Glasnow, the Dodgers are light on right-handed relievers. Kyle Hurt and Ben Casparius were potential options, but neither are likely better candidates than the pitchers they chose, aside from Tanner Scott, who was not going to be left off the roster due to his contract.

The Dodgers relied on Henriquez down the stretch, but he fell out of favor after his last outing when he was unable to pitch with a big lead.

“If we don’t feel comfortable using certain guys with an eight-run lead, then we’ve got to think through some things,” Roberts said about Henriquez after Game 1 of the Wild Card Series. “But as you pitch guys, you start to learn more about guys. And that’s kind of how it goes.”

Meanwhile, Will Smith remains on the Dodgers roster as he continues to deal with the fallout of a hairline fracture in his right hand. The Dodgers have not ruled out Smith from starting, but continue to carry three catchers in the event his hand continues to bother him.

If Smith is able to start, the Dodgers have some extra insurance behind the plate, and it also allows them to free up Dalton Rushing for pinch-hitting duties.

Justin Dean remains on the roster as a late-game defensive replacement and pinch-runner due to his elite glove and speed combo. Dean increases the versatility by allowing the Dodgers to move Andy Pages to left field, freeing up Kiké Hernández for infield work, or getting Teoscar Hernández out of the game to vastly improve their outfield ability.

Hyeseong Kim is another candidate to pinch-run and he also can help play second base if Tommy Edman regresses amid lingering right ankle trouble.
