After a lot of speculation about whether the Las Vegas Raiders would sign veteran cornerback Marcus Peters, the storied franchise agreed to terms with the 30-year-old on Monday afternoon.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Peters has signed a one-year deal with the Raiders.

With the Raiders sorely lacking on the defensive side of the football over the past few years, with star defensive end Maxx Crosby being the lone bright spot defensively, Las Vegas brings in a proven veteran to help bolster the secondary, which is a win right out of the gate.
As a four-time All-Pro, Peters knows how to get it done in the secondary and will immediately be arguably the best corner on the team next season as he joins the likes of Nate Hobbs, Marcus Epps and Tre’von Moehrig.
It’ll be interesting to see what kind of impact Peters will have in Las Vegas during the 2023 campaign, as the Raiders desperately need to take a step forward defensively if this team truly wants to compete for a playoff spot in the highly competitive AFC.
The 2023 NFL season will be an interesting one, to say the least, for the Raiders, with the team going through some drastic changes, namely the change at quarterback going from longtime starter Derek Carr to veteran Jimmy Garoppolo, formerly of the San Francisco 49ers.
Although the Raiders aren’t going to get much attention as a potential playoff team in the AFC, Las Vegas has an opportunity to fly under the radar and prove their doubters wrong in 2023, with improvements on both sides of the football.
