After overcoming a 3-1 deficit against the Atlanta Braves in the National League Championship Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers returned to the World Series for the third time since 2017. They started it off on the right foot by defeating the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1.
The matchup is between teams that finished with the best record in their respective leagues. Tampa Bay was the only other club to win 40 games this season.
As the Dodgers look to get over the hump for the first time since 1988, many officials in the L.A. area are rallying behind them. Chief Terrazas of the L.A. Fire Department announced every firefighter will have the option of wearing a Dodgers cap while on duty for the duration of the World Series.

The LAFD has long been one of the Dodgers’ biggest supporters, and the two share mutual respect for each other. This past May, Justin Turner thanked them and other essential workers for their tireless service during the height of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Pink’s Hot Dogs turns blue
Prior to the Dodgers’ 2018 World Series matchup against the Boston Red Sox, Pink’s Hot Dogs showed their support by going blue for just the second time in 79 years, changing from their traditional white and pink colors.
They have done so again for the 2020 World Series to show continued support of the Dodgers.
