The Los Angeles Rams made a huge addition to their secondary this offseason when they landed two-time All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for four draft picks.

McDuffie hasn’t played a game for the Rams yet, but already seems to be fitting in well. A Southern California native, he was college teammates with Puka Nacua and also saw his longtime Kansas City Chiefs secondary-mate Jaylen Watson join the team in free agency.

McDuffie said he has enjoyed every second being part of the Rams organization so far, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

“I’ve loved it here,” McDuffie said after Monday’s OTA. “I always talk to my fiancée (about) just the energy and the vibe that this place has each morning. I’m in the building at 7:00 AM and right away bro, I’m smiling. People are saying ‘good morning,’ people are just happy to be here back in L.A. So I’ve really enjoyed it these past few months.”

McDuffie praised the Rams’ culture and said everyone has been friendly to him since arriving to L.A.:

“I mean, to me, a lot of it is happiness, but happiness in the sense of you get to come here and do what you love,” McDuffie said, when asked to describe what the energy in the building feels like when he walks in. “Everybody around here is like a true family. I think a lot of people talk about that in locker rooms, a lot of people talk about it at other organizations. But from the jump since I’ve been here, it’s been just constant love, constant support, constant just showing me what to do, showing me how to do things, and I like to just say no egos anywhere across this team, across the organization, coaching staff. Everybody who comes here is ready to do their best and to push each other, and I love being a part of that.”

McDuffie should be a huge upgrade for the Rams secondary as he is a legitimate lockdown corner who matches up well against speedy wide receivers.

With McDuffie and Watson reuniting in L.A., combined with the recent addition of Myles Garrett to help the pass rush, the Rams expect to have one of the best defenses in football next season.

Sean McVay on Rams’ acquisition of Trent McDuffie

McVay recently discussed the Rams’ acquisition of McDuffie, comparing it to when they brought in another All-Pro corner in Jalen Ramsey a few years ago.
