The Los Angeles Rams are in the midst of a transition period after losing several members of their coaching staff during the offseason, along with the retirement of future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald.

Despite these departures, the team will return a very talented roster for the 2024 season that is being led by eight-year head coach Sean McVay.

The Rams are coming off a promising 10-7 season that nearly saw them upset the Detroit Lions in the NFC Wild Card round. With many key contributors coming back and more pieces add, some believe the team could make a deeper run this year.

During an appearance on “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” Tom Brady named the Rams as one of the biggest threats to dethrone the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs along with the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers:

“I think it’s probably still the 49ers, and the Packers, I think, are going to be a great team. And you know what? I think the Rams are going to be a good team this year, too. Very good offense, receiving corps. They lost Aaron Donald. Nobody can replace him. That guy is a first-ballot Hall of Famer, but they’ve drafted really well. They got a really underrated defense, so that’s going to be a team to watch, too.”

The Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, are looking to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowl titles, but it won’t be an easy path with many others knocking on the door.

The Rams could be one of those teams with an offense that includes the likes of Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams, among others.

Even with Donald no longer in the picture, the Rams defense should still be solid after the team added some solid veterans and draft picks to the mix. Included in that is second round pick Braden Fiske, who should help alleviate the loss of Donald and even has worked out with the Rams legend this offseason.

While it remains to be seen just how far they will go, it is cool to see people like Brady high on the Rams going into this season.

Rams waive Jerry Jacobs with injury settlement

The Rams placed cornerback Jerry Jacobs on waivers with an injury settlement, ending a very short stint with the team due to a currently undisclosed ailment. Jacobs’ tenure with the Rams last less than one month should he go claimed or released after clearing waivers.
