Prior to visiting the White House, some members of the Los Angeles Dodgers celebrated their back-to-back World Series championships at the United States Capitol with U.S. Senators Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff (both D-Calif.). Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) was also part of the ceremony.
Dodgers president Stan Kasten, manager Dave Roberts, Will Klein and Miguel Rojas were on hand at the Capitol building to represent the team. The Dodgers presented all three of the senators with a signed baseball to celebrate the occasion.
In addition to the senators, other politicians from California were in attendance, including representatives Luz Rivas, Nanette Barragán and Brad Sherman.
The Dodgers’ victory in Game 7 of the World Series marked the ninth championship for the franchise and their eighth title since moving from Brooklyn to Los Angeles in 1958.
The team won their 12th National League West Division title in the last 13 seasons before defeating the Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers and Toronto Blue Jays en route to their World Series title.
“For nearly seventy years, the Dodgers have made Los Angeles proud, and their back-to-back World Series Championships have only reaffirmed their remarkable legacy,” Sen. Padilla said in a statement. “I’ve been rooting for the Dodgers for as long as I can remember, and it was a privilege to welcome them back to the Capitol today to celebrate their back-to-back championships.
“Their hard work and diverse talent continue to inspire us all, and I hope to celebrate them again next year.”
Last year, the Senate unanimously passed Padilla and Schiff’s resolution congratulating the Dodgers on their World Series victory, becoming the first team in 25 years to earn back-to-back World Series titles with one of the most diverse rosters in Major League Baseball.
The resolution celebrated the dedication and teamwork of the entire Dodgers roster and staff who made their comeback Game 7 World Series victory possible.
“From the first pitch of spring to that final out in October, the Dodgers once again made us believe,” Sen. Schiff said. “And it wasn’t just this season, it was also the one before that, they are champions in every sense of the word. To the players, coaches and staff, thank you for another victory we will never forget.”
The Senators also hosted the Dodgers last year to celebrate their 2024 World Series win.
Also in 2024, the Senate unanimously passed Senator Padilla and former Senator Laphonza Butler’s resolution applauding the Dodgers’ dominant championship run and recognizing the achievements and contributions of the entire Los Angeles Dodgers organization.
The resolution also acknowledged the passing of Fernando Valenzuela, who spurred a unique connection between the team and the Latino community of Los Angeles.
Dodgers visit White House
Following the visit to Capitol Hill, the Dodgers spent the rest of their day visiting with President Donald Trump and more politicians at the White House.
While the Dodgers were back at the White House for a second consecutive year, their 2026 visit marked a new experience as the ceremony was held on the revamped Rose Garden area.
