Jake McQuaide, Rams

The Los Angeles Rams waived long snapper Alex Ward and signed long snapper Jake McQuaide from their practice squad to their active roster.

McQuaide was elevated from the practice squad for the Rams’ Week 10 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. He replaced Ward, who was the team’s long snapper for the first eight games.

The change comes after head coach Sean McVay emphasized the need for the Rams’ kicking game to improve. L.A. previously made a change at kicker, swapping out Joshua Karty for Harrison Mevis.

While the Rams did not have a field goal attempt on Sunday against the 49ers, Mevis converted all six of his extra point attempts.

McQuaide is back with the Rams for the first time since 2020. He previously served as the team’s long snapper for 10 seasons, including their final five in St. Louis.

McQuaide earned back-to-back Pro Bowl selections from 2016-17 and will look for similar success in his second stint with the Rams.

Rams’ Davante Adams & Puka Nacua believe Matthew Stafford should be in conversation for NFL MVP

The Los Angeles Rams defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9 behind another dominant performance from Matthew Stafford.

The veteran quarterback completed 24 of 36 passes for 280 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. He became the first player in NFL history to throw for at least four touchdowns and no interceptions in three consecutive games.

Davante Adams, who caught a touchdown in the game, said that Stafford deserves to be in the conversation for the NFL MVP Award.

Puka Nacua, who also found the end zone against the 49ers, said Stafford is having one of the greatest stretches for a quarterback in recent memory.
