Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke didn’t make many friends when he decided to move the franchise from St. Louis back to Southern California, but the decision paid major dividends a few years later as they captured Super Bowl LVI.

It was a special moment for the Rams organization as they made good on their aggressive team-building approach, but held even more meaning as they won in their home at SoFi Stadium. Los Angeles beat Cincinnati 23-20 and cemented their status as one of the better teams in the NFL.

Although the current iteration of the team is fighting for a playoff spot during the 2023 campaign, the Rams are set up for future success after clearing their cap sheet and nailing some of their recent draft picks. Los Angeles should be a competitive team sooner rather than later and Kroenke must be hoping it’s in time for 2027 as Super Bowl LXI will be held in Sofi Stadium.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell gave an official statement where he expressed his excitement of having the Super Bowl back in L.A., via TheRams.com:

“We are very excited to bring the Super Bowl back to Los Angeles for the second time in five years. The city did an outstanding job hosting Super Bowl 56 in the incredible SoFi Stadium and we believe that Super Bowl 61 will be even more memorable. The Los Angeles Rams, the Los Angeles Host Committee and many other outstanding partners will help create an unforgettable week of events culminating in Super Bowl Sunday in 2027 that will celebrate the region as an epicenter of sports, entertainment and culture.”

Kroenke offered his own words where he thanked Goodell and acknowledged he is looking forward to seeing how the event affects the Los Angeles community:

“We are grateful to Commissioner Goodell and our partners at the other 31 teams for this opportunity to once again elevate our league’s biggest moment. More so, we are honored that Super Bowl will return to Los Angeles and Inglewood for a second time in five years and excited to build upon the substantial impact to local businesses and community organizations that resulted from hosting Super Bowl LVI.”

Since the Rams arrived, the organization has done everything in its power to drum up interest in the franchise and football as a whole. With the Super Bowl set to take place at SoFi Stadium again, the city of Los Angeles has plenty to look forward to in the coming years.
