Rams News: Josh Reynolds Gets Along With Fellow Wide Receivers Due To Drive For Success

The Los Angeles Rams are going to be a very different team in 2020 after losing a number of key players in free agency this offseason.

Most of those departures came on the defensive side of the ball, so the Rams return most of their offensive starters, including their three of their top wide receivers that has formed one of the most talented receiving corps in the league in recent years.

For the second consecutive season, the Rams had two players with over 1,000 receiving yards in 2019. The previous season, Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods each had over 1,200 receiving yards, while this past year Woods and Cooper Kupp each went for over 1,100.

The Rams big three receivers certainly dominated the team’s offensive landscape in recent years. However, if any of them have gotten injured, Josh Reynolds has always been able to step in. That will be essential now that the team has traded Cooks to the Houston Texans.

Although there could be a sense of competition due to all of the receivers’ skill sets, Reynolds stated that the group’s mission of success is what has bonded them in friendship, via Sarina Morales of TheRams.com:

“I think it’s because we are all looking to see one another be just as successful as ourselves.”

Reynolds joined the Rams in 2017 after being selected in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. Since then, he has only started in 11 games but has appeared in all 48 regular-season games and all four of the Rams playoff appearances during that time, including getting the starting nod for Super Bowl LIII. He has totaled 832 yards on 61 receptions for an impressive gain of 13.6 yards per catch.

Reynolds breakout year was in 2018 when he filled in for the injured Kupp. After Kupp suffered a torn ACL, Reynolds started in the latter half of the season, recording at least two receptions in his last six starts. With Reynolds likely getting an even larger role in 2020, the Rams offense should still be a force to be reckoned with.
