The Los Angeles Rams experienced a slew of injuries that derailed their 2022 season and unfortunately they’ve seen multiple contributors get hurt in training camp and preseason.

The biggest injury was to Cooper Kupp, who suffered a hamstring injury in practice. Kupp was initially expected to miss weeks, but people like Mike LaFleur said his status was more on the day-to-day side.

Derion Kendrick also suffered a hamstring injury that has kept him away, which was unfortunate timing because he is competing for one of the starting cornerback spots.

However, there’s good news as Sean McVay expects both Kupp and Kendrick to be back for the upcoming joint practice with the Denver Broncos this week, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

Rams head coach Sean McVay on Sunday said wide receiver Cooper Kupp and defensive back Derion Kendrick, who have missed extended time during training camp with hamstring injuries, will practice against the Broncos.

“He’ll be back, and then DK will also be back as well,” McVay said during a video conference with reporters.

Along the offensive line, Los Angeles was without Joseph Noteboom, who was dealing with an undisclosed ailment. McVay didn’t have a clear update, though believes he will be back soon:

“I’m hopeful,” McVay said. “It’s day-to-day. I have much better clarity on Cooper and Derion Kendrick that they’re going to go. With Joe, it’s kind of a fingers-crossed, and then if not, then next week is when we anticipate the thumbs-up. But I would love for him to be able to go if possible.”

Lastly, Logan Bruss, who has been working his back from his injuries last season, suffered an ankle sprain against the Las Vegas Raiders is being listed as day-to-day:

McVay also said that offensive lineman Logan Bruss suffered a lateral ankle sprain in Saturday night’s preseason game against the Raiders, and that they will be taking things a day at a time with him.

It’s good to see that key pieces on both the offense and defense should be back in action, but the injuries along the offensive line are concerning considering what happened last season. Hopefully Noteboom and Bruss can come back sooner than later because the Rams will need their offensive line intact if they want to be successful.

Sean McVay explains why Joseph Noteboom is getting reps at right guard

Noteboom came into the summer originally expected to compete for the starting left tackle job, but McVay has been giving reps at right guard. McVay explained that Noteboom’s versatility allows them to evaluate different lineups and so they’re exploring all options ahead of the 2023 season.
