The Los Angeles Rams appear to have hit an early injury bug as training camp gets underway for the 2024 season. L.A. has already lost Derion Kendrick for the season, Darious Williams indefinitely, Jonah Jackson for the preseason and now offensive lineman Rob Havenstein could have a similar issue.

Havenstein has been a full-time starter for the Rams since their final season in St. Louis and with the retirement of Aaron Donald this offseason he is the only one left that can say that. He has been extremely available for L.A., missing more than three games in a season only once in nine years as the Rams’ starting right tackle.

He hopes to continue that type of iron man steadiness, but may have an issue as he joins the long list of injured Rams after suffering a foot injury on Thursday, according to Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

Meanwhile, offensive lineman Rob Havenstein left practice with a foot injury. McVay said he didn’t have an immediate information beyond that, other than “it sounded like he (Havenstein) got stepped on.”

“I don’t have any indication, because he’s a tough guy,” McVay said of Havenstein.

Hopefully, an injury of this nature does not cause Havenstein to miss any time, especially with other offensive lineman already dealing with issues as well. Foot injuries, though, have a wide variance of severity. It could be something that holds him out for a few days and nothing more, or it could be a serious, long-term issue.

Only time will tell as the Rams press forward with a battered secondary and offensive line through the first weeks of training camp.

Rams’ Jonah Jackson expected to miss preseason

The Rams brought in Pro Bowl offensive guard Jonah Jackson as their premier free agent signing of the 2024 offseason. Jackson spent the first four years of his career with the Detroit Lions, but opted to join the Rams and reunite with Matthew Stafford, the quarterback he protected during his rookie season.

But in his first training camp with the Rams, Jackson has not been participating much. He appeared to suffer some sort of upper body injury, and the Rams had not specifically said what he was dealing with. But it appears the Rams don’t have to worry about being without their starting guard for too long.

The 27-year-old is expected to miss the preseason with a bruised scapula, but could be back for the season opener when the Rams face his former Lions.
