After firing Pete Carroll after just one season, the Las Vegas Raiders were once again on the search for their next head coach. And after multiple interviews with a number of candidates, all signs began pointing towards Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak being the choice.

However, with Kubiak helping to lead the Seahawks to the Super Bowl, the Raiders have been unable to make anything official. Kubiak would finish the job on Sunday as he and the Seahawks would dominate the New England Patriots to be crowned Super Bowl champions and immediately afterwards he made his future intentions known.

Being interviewed after the game, Kubiak was asked about his future and while he plans to enjoy his championship victory, he made it clear that he will be the next head coach of the Raiders, via Stacey Dales of NFL Network:

Kubiak did an outstanding job with the Seahawks this season as they ranked third in the NFL in total points and eighth in total yards. It was a balanced attack that saw the Seahawks rank in the top 10 in both passing and rushing yards with quarterback Sam Darnold being named a Pro Bowler and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

At only 38 years old, Kubiak will be one of the younger head coaches in the NFL and this is his first ever head coaching job. He certainly has some pieces to work with on the Raiders as tight end Brock Bowers is one of the best in the league and running back Ashton Jeanty has a ton of potential. But the most important thing will be the quarterback position.

The Raiders are expected to take Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick and how Kubiak is able to utilize and develop him will be crucial in his success with this franchise. The Raiders have been unable to maintain stability for many years now, but hopefully they’ve found their guy in Kubiak who can lead this team for a very long time.

Raiders likely to trade Maxx Crosby this offseason?

Another big question surrounding the Raiders this offseason surrounds star defensive end Maxx Crosby as the relationship between him and the franchise seems to be souring as he wants to win now, while the Raiders seem to be moving towards a rebuild. As such, the team could look to trade Crosby this offseason.
