Las Vegas Raiders defensive star Maxx Crosby has been the anchor for the team on the edge since his rookie season in 2019 when he finished second place in Rookie of the Year voting. He is now of the better edge rushers in all of football, but the Raiders have continued to struggle as a team defensively.

They are hoping to remedy some of the issues they’ve had, especially in the secondary, with the addition of veteran cornerback Marcus Peters. Entering his eighth NFL season, Peters has been — at times — one of the best corners in the game.

Crosby, in particular, is excited about the Peters addition. He summed up his feelings with just one single word posted to Twitter:

DOG.

Peters, a four-time All-Pro, immediately becomes arguably the best corner on the team next season as he joins the likes of Nate Hobbs, Marcus Epps and Tre’von Moehrig. Crosby knows the type of impact he could have on a Raiders defense in need of veteran leadership.

The Raiders desperately need to take a step forward defensively if this team truly wants to compete for a playoff spot in the highly competitive AFC. They’re hoping Peters is the key to that change in culture in the secondary.

The 2023 NFL season will be an interesting one for the Raiders, with the team going through some drastic changes, namely the change at quarterback going from longtime starter Derek Carr to veteran Jimmy Garoppolo, formerly of the San Francisco 49ers.

Although the Raiders aren’t going to get much attention as a potential playoff team in the AFC, Las Vegas has an opportunity to fly under the radar and prove their doubters wrong in 2023, with improvements on both sides of the football.

And Crosby, in particular, is excited about his newest defensive addition. He should be able to rush the passer freely knowing an All-Pro caliber veteran is hawking top receivers in the secondary.

Jermaine Eluemunor calls himself ‘luckiest guy in the NFL’ for facing Maxx Crosby in practice every day

Jermaine Eluemunor had the best season of his career with the Raiders last season, starting all 17 games at right tackle. The Raiders ranked in the top 10 in fewest sacks allowed and paved the way for star running back Josh Jacobs to lead the entire NFL in rushing yards.

The work will continue once training camp begins, and in terms of working on pass protection, there is no better opposition to go up against on a daily basis than star defensive end Maxx Crosby and Eluemunor is looking forward to it. In fact, the Raiders tackle took to social media, calling himself the luckiest guy in the NFL for being able to face off with Crosby:

It’s approaching that time where I get to go up against the best DE in the NFL for a whole month….I might just be the luckiest Guy in the NFL @CrosbyMaxx pic.twitter.com/7POnFkgkIL
