Kenyan Drake, Cardinals, Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders have really ramped up their NFL free agency activity this week, with the team now having signed a sizable upgrade behind star running back Josh Jacobs.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Raiders have agreed to terms with running back Kenyan Drake on a two-year deal.

The Raiders already had arguably one of the top running backs in the NFL, with Jacobs quickly turning into a consistent threat out of the backfield. The addition of Drake makes the running game in Las Vegas that much more potent heading into the 2021 campaign as he makes the backfield dynamic and a true force to be reckoned with.

Drake had his best season as a pro last year with the Arizona Cardinals, in which he rushed for a career-high in rushing yards and touchdowns. He became an ideal successor for David Johnson, who was traded to the Houston Texans for DeAndre Hopkins prior to the 2020 NFL season.

The 27-year-old back rushed for 955 yards and 10 touchdowns on 239 carries. He also caught 25 passes for 137 yards.

Las Vegas has now brought in another threat at running back and a deep threat in the passing game with the addition of wide receiver John Brown. They may not be done yet in their attempt to upgrade the offense as the team could still be in the running for another notable wide receiver like JuJu Smith-Schuster.
