The Las Vegas Raiders are headed into a crucial divisional matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night. Two of the team’s best players will be ready to take the field after doubts about their playing status.
After being full participants in practice over the weekend, Raiders stars Hunter Renfrow (concussion) and Darren Waller (shoulder) are expected to play against the Chiefs on Monday Night Football. Denzel Perryman (concussion) is also expected to get back to work, giving the defense a much-needed boost against one of the best offenses in the NFL.
The Raiders are coming off a win over the Denver Broncos in Week 4, which was the first of the season for the Silver and Black. Although the Broncos were a formidable opponent, the Chiefs are entirely different, with Patrick Mahomes and company firing on all cylinders.
The Chiefs will be sporting a record of 3-1 while sitting atop the AFC West division standings coming into this matchup. Las Vegas, however, has struggled thus far this season and will be hoping to secure their second win on the year while also proving the squad can compete with a title contender like Kansas City.
A win for the Raiders would not only get the team to .500, but it would also be a statement for the struggling franchise. Las Vegas desperately needs to get on track this season, especially after the bold moves made in the offseason.
After Week 5, the Raiders won’t face the Chiefs again until the last game of the regular season on January 8.
