On Friday, the Associated Press released its NFL All-Pro Teams, and the Las Vegas Raiders had three representatives, all on the first team. Wide receiver Davante Adams, running back Josh Jacobs, and kicker Daniel Carlson were selected. But there was one glaring omission from both the first and second team in edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

San Francisco’s Nick Bosa and Dallas’ Micah Parsons were chosen for the first team, while Cleveland’s Myles Garrett and Philadelphia’s Haason Reddick were the second team choices. All were certainly deserving All-Pros, but Crosby not making either team is a travesty, and Adams voiced his displeasure on social media.

Adams took to social media to congratulate his teammates on their All-Pro selections but let it be known that he felt Crosby was ‘brutally snubbed’ in being left off:

Congrats to my teammates and other boys around the league on their all-pro nods! Maxx was brutally snubbed and somebody needs to be held accountable. As for me…that’s 3 1st team blessings in a row. God is great

This seems to be a case of voters putting far more emphasis on sack numbers and not looking at everything else. Bosa, Garrett, and Reddick were the top-3 sack getters in the NFL this season, while Parsons, at 13.5, was just ahead of Crosby, who finished with 12.5. But when it comes to the other statistical categories, the Raiders star was with Bosa in being well ahead of the rest of the field.

Crosby led the league in tackles for loss at 22, with Bosa being second at 19. Crosby was also second in QB hits, trailing just Bosa and being well ahead of Parsons, Reddick, and Garrett. Additionally, Crosby had 89 combined tackles on the season, at least 20 more than any other edge rusher in the league. And no player with at least five sacks had more run stops than Crosby’s 44.

Again, the four players selected to the All-Pro teams were worthy of a selection, but not more so than Crosby who quite had another dominant season that should have been recognized with a second All-Pro selection.

Sometimes players can get emotional and overstate things when defending their teammates, but that wasn’t the case in this instance with Davante Adams. He said Crosby was brutally snubbed from the AP All-Pro team, and when you look at the numbers, it is hard to come to any conclusion aside from the one he laid out.
