The uncertainty surrounding the Winnipeg Jets and Connor Hellebuyck, and the need for second-line help

Murat Ates of The Athletic: There is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding Connor Hellebuyck and the Winnipeg Jets.

Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff said there is going to more changes this offseason: “There’s going to be a lot of changes to this team when you come to training camp.”

It seems unlikely at this point that Hellebuyck will be moved this offseason. It is possible, but it seems like another team will have to wait until their own goaltending fails, to then step up to the plate and take a run at Hellebuyck.

The Florida Panthers added Jacob Markstrom. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Alex Lyon are a solid tandem with the Buffalo Sabres. The Carolina Hurricanes won a Cup with Andersen, Brandon Bussi and Pyotr Kochetkov.

Toronto Maple Leafs Rumors – Looking for Difference Maker, Bobrovsky, Rielly, and Knies

The Jets still need to improve their second line. Anthony Mantha is the top free agent forward still available. They’ve got around $12 million in cap space, but still need to re-sign RFA forward Cole Perfetti.
