Los Angeles continues to be the city of stars as the Rams recently acquired reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns. Garrett joins another famous Cleveland star in LeBron James to come play in L.A. in the latter stages of their respective careers.

James is a huge Browns fan and has built a strong relationship with Garrett over the years, which the new Rams star spoke about.

“He’s been a positive force in my life,” Garrett said of James during his introductory press conference at the Rams practice facility. “Just giving me advice when he can. Always helping trying to work through different situations early on in my career. I’m sure we’ll have some more conversations now being in the same city. We’ll see, but I haven’t gotten to talk to him yet.”

James is currently dealing with his own uncertain future as a return to the Los Angeles Lakers is up in the air. The 41-year-old is a free agent and needs to decide if he wants to keep playing, and if so, where he wants to finish his career.

Garrett, of course, wants James to keep playing with the Lakers so they can play in the same city once again.

“We’ll see how long LBJ is around here,” Garrett said. “I’m not sure what his future looks like, but if he wants to stay around for a couple more years, I know they’ll accept him with open arms. But there’s only so long he can play.”

Even though James is a Browns fan, he has attended numerous Rams games over the years at SoFi Stadium. If he re-signs with the Lakers and stays in L.A. then that will certainly continue now with Garrett on the team and the Rams looking like Super Bowl favorites on paper.

Myles Garrett consulted LeBron James before requesting trade

Garrett and James have built a strong relationship over the years, so much so that the defensive end consulted the Lakers star before requesting a trade from the Browns.

“What a transition looked like for him,” Garrett said of what he discussed with James . “What was his thought process going into it before he left Cleveland? Just making sure I made a logical decision, taking my time. Just trying to take away the pressure of doing something like that. Cleveland, really that area, northeast Ohio, has been his home. It feels like my home, as well.”
