Royce Lewis and Christian Vázquez each contributed three RBIs as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-7 on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium. Minnesota capitalized on multiple scoring opportunities and errors to notch just its third victory over the Dodgers since 2017, evening the series at one game apiece.

The Dodgers entered the matchup as favorites with moneyline odds around -160, while the Twins were priced as underdogs at approximately +135. The projected run total was 8.5, which was comfortably exceeded midway through the game as both teams combined for 17 runs.

Lewis, who grew up in nearby Orange County, played a central role in the Twins’ offensive performance. He contributed an RBI fielder’s choice in the second inning, drew a bases-loaded walk in the sixth, and hit a ground ball in the seventh that led to three runs, two of which scored after a throwing error by Dodgers reliever Edgardo Henriquez. Vázquez added a run-scoring single in the sixth and another RBI hit earlier in the game as part of his multi-hit performance.

Minnesota produced three separate three-run innings, including in the sixth and seventh frames, where they extended and secured their lead. In the sixth, the Twins moved ahead 6-3 after Lewis’ walk, a groundout by Harrison Bader that drove in a run, and Vázquez’s single to left. The Dodgers responded in the bottom half of the inning with a two-run single by Hyeseong Kim, trimming the deficit to 6-5.

However, the Twins regained control in the seventh. Lewis hit a comebacker to the mound that brought in Carlos Correa. On the play, a throwing error by Henriquez allowed Ty France and Matt Walner to score as well, making it 9-5. France, who hails from West Covina, later added an RBI double in the ninth inning to increase the lead.

The Dodgers attempted a late comeback, with Andy Pages hitting a three-run home run and Shohei Ohtani adding a two-run shot earlier in the contest. Ohtani’s homer marked the fourth consecutive game in which he has gone deep, continuing his hot streak despite the team’s broader struggles. The Dodgers have lost 11 of their last 14 games since July 4.

Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto lasted five innings, allowing three runs—only one of which was earned—on five hits while striking out seven. Ben Casparius entered in relief in the sixth but failed to record an out and was charged with three runs. Shortly after issuing a bases-loaded walk, he exited the game with a right calf cramp. The Dodgers’ bullpen issued six walks, contributing to their struggles.

Minnesota reliever Brock Stewart pitched a scoreless fifth inning and earned the win, improving to 2-1 on the season. The Twins improved to 3-13 all-time at Dodger Stadium, including playoff appearances, and secured only their third win over the Dodgers in the past nine years.

The series will conclude on Wednesday night. The Dodgers are expected to start right-hander Tyler Glasnow (1-1, 3.10 ERA), while the Twins will counter with Chris Paddack (3-9, 5.14 ERA).
