Jacob Misiorowski helped the Milwaukee Brewers secure at least a series split against the Los Angeles Dodgers after another solid start on Saturday.
The right-hander allowed just one run on five hits over six innings of work in the Brewers’ 4-1 win at Dodger Stadium. He was able to limit them offensively despite collecting only six strikeouts, which tied for his second-lowest total this season.
“They had a great approach coming in,” Misiorowski said of the Dodgers on the Fox broadcast. “They were just trying to push me the other way, so it was a battle. I think I won in the end.”
Misiorowski faced his biggest test in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he allowed three consecutive singles to Teoscar Hernández, Alex Call and Hunter Feduccia after retiring Tommy Edman. With the bases loaded and only one out, “The Miz” locked in by striking out Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman to end the threat.
“William [Contreras] saw something,” Misiorowski said of being able to get out of the inning without allowing a run. “I don’t know. We trust him. He saw something in the Shohei at-bat and he rolled into it with Freeman, and it worked. It was fun.”
Misiorowski wanted to attack Ohtani with his electric fastball from the get-go, throwing him six pitches that clocked at 102.9 mph or faster to lead off the bottom of the first. Another one of Misiorowski’s early fastballs to Ohtani was an eye-popping 104.2 mph.
That was the fastest pitch Misiorowski threw over his six innings against the Dodgers, and his heater otherwise averaged 101.4 mph. Misiorowski’s five hardest pitches of the night were all thrown to Ohtani.
“It was just coming out easy. Free and easy,” Misiorowski said. “It was awesome to have Shohei in the box and him knowing what was coming, and still not be able to hit it. It was fun.”

After his strong start against the Dodgers, Misiorowski is now 12-5 with a Major League-best 1.75 ERA, 2.14 FIP, 0.75 WHIP and 13.6 strikeouts per nine in 139 innings across 23 starts this season. The fireballer is the overwhelming favorite to win the National League Cy Young Award at the end of the year.
Saturday was the Dodgers’ third time ever facing Misiorowski. They had most recently seen him in Game 3 of the 2025 NL Championship Series.
