The Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers have just two postseason meetings all-time but may very well be in line for an October collision course the second year in a row.
And it would come on the heels of Milwaukee winning four of seven head-to-head meetings in 2026.
“I think it’s more than just this series, it’s year after year, we’re right there with them,” Jacob Misiorowski told Ken Rosenthal on Fox Sports when asked about the Brewers’ performance against the Dodgers this past weekend.
“We’re competing and I think we’re a team to be reckoned with it. It’s exciting to be in that clubhouse right now. The boys are fired up, so it’s really fun to be a Brewer.”
Misiorowski’s comments came after he held the Dodgers to just one run over six innings despite allowing five hits and issuing one walk. Misiorowski finished with six strikeouts, tied for his second-fewest in any start this season, but threw a bevy of 104 mph fastballs to Shohei Ohtani.
Milwaukee followed up that performance by managing just enough success against Tarik Skubal before taking control once the Dodgers bullpen entered. Skubal allowed two runs (one earned) but needed a career-high 109 pitches to get through six innings.
Brewers vs. Dodgers tiebreaker
By virtue of winning three of four games at Dodger Stadium, the Brewers clinched the postseason tiebreaker over the Dodgers if that comes into play with respect to the National League standings. L.A. won two of three games at American Family Field from May 22-24.
“We kind of needed to win this one, and we didn’t. It’s just how it goes,” said Max Muncy, who reached 10 years of Major League service time on Sunday.
The Brewers continue to hold the best record in the NL at 77-48, which is 2.5 games ahead of the Atlanta Braves and three up on the Dodgers. The top two records in each league receive a postseason bye in the first round.
While the Dodgers are on pace to play in the Wild Card Series for a second consecutive year, they have demonstrated both an ability to navigate that and not having home-field advantage against the Brewers in the playoffs. Moreover, the Brewers went 6-0 against the Dodgers in 2025.
