One of the biggest moves made in the NFL this offseason was the Las Vegas Raiders acquiring star wide receiver Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers. Over the last few seasons, Adams has been one of, if not the best wide receiver in the NFL, and his addition to the Raiders offense could take them to the next level.

It also reunites Adams with his college quarterback and close friend Derek Carr. Carr is coming off the best season of his career and led the Raiders to just their second playoff appearance since 2002 despite a number of off-field distractions. But while the pair reuniting is a great story, Adams wants to make it very clear that he is in Las Vegas to win.

The Raiders receiver appeared on The Pivot Podcast with Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor, and Channing Crowder and said he is in Las Vegas in order to win a Super Bowl, as transcribed by Victoria Hernandez of Yahoo Sports:

“You know what’s on my mind, I ain’t come here just to be cute and hang out with Derek and all of that,” Adams said Wednesday on an episode of The Pivot podcast. “I want to get that trophy at the end of the year […] “In eight years, I wasn’t able to get one,” he said, “but we had some really successful seasons and we did things, it just wasn’t able to get it done.”

In eight years with the Packers, Adams made the playoffs six times, including four trips to the NFC Championship Game, but was never able to get over that hump and appear in the Super Bowl. Now with the Raiders, Adams plans on changing that.

The arrow for the Raiders certainly appears to be pointing upwards, with the team having one of the best collection of skill position players in the NFL. Adams and Hunter Renfrow are an excellent pair of Pro Bowl receivers, while Darren Waller is one of the most dynamic tight ends in the league as well. Add in Josh Jacobs in the backfield and Carr on a new contract leading the way, and the pieces are in place for an explosive offense.

Things won’t be easy for the Raiders as there are questions about other areas of the roster, not to mention they play in the loaded AFC. Just in their division, there is a belief that any of the four teams could make a playoff run. Add in teams like the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, and of course, the defending AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals, and it will be a tough road for Adams and the Raiders to reach the Super Bowl.
