The Columbus Blue Jackets are taking calls on Zach Werenski

Pierre LeBrun: “Nothing imminent, but the Blue Jackets have started listening to teams calling on Zach Werenski, sources confirm. The CBJ are aware that the Norris Trophy winner is unlikely to extend past his deal.

No guarantee he’s dealt this summer, but Jackets’ best deal could be now versus waiting a year. We’ll see how it develops.”

Marco D’Amico: “San Jose Sharks want to add a big time defenceman, be it via draft or via trade. A team to watch, along with Carolina and Toronto, for Zach Werenski There is a TON of interest now that the cat is out of the bag.”

David Pagnotta: “Also, on Werenski. Told Sharks are poking there.”

Kevin Kurz: “Would be surprising if the Flyers don’t pursue this. Who knows what they would offer, but keep in mind they wanted to get involved in the Quinn Hughes bidding before they were told Van wouldn’t trade him here”

The Montreal Canadiens don’t need to make a trade today

Eric Engels: “Can understand sense of anticipation in MTL is building and am not suggesting it shouldn’t be given team needs, ammunition/desire to make a deal+and management’s history of splashing big on draft night. But it’s not as if Pick 28 is the key to a deal+the offseason ends in 6 hrs.”

The New Jersey Devils inquired about Alex DeBrincat

James Nichols: Have heard that the New Jersey Devils have inquired with the Detroit Red Wings about forward Alex DeBrincat.

The Red Wings may prefer to keep DeBrincat, and they’re looking to compete right away.

Things have slowed down regarding a Mason McTavish trade

Chris Johnston: The closer we get to the draft, the odds of the Anaheim Ducks trading forward Mason McTavish decline.

The New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues are still in the mix after making the offers to the Ducks yesterday, but things have slowed down.

The Calgary Flames had looked at Olen Zellweger

Pat Steinberg: Before the Calgary Flames acquired Simon Nemec from the New Jersey Devils, they were believed to looking at, then Anaheim Ducks defenseman Olen Zellweger. The Flames had interest in three or four young defensemen.
