The Los Angeles Angels extended their season-best winning streak to six games with a 10-5 win over the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday night. Powered by four home runs, including a pair from catcher Logan O’Hoppe, the Angels improved to 23-25 on the season and continued their climb back toward .500.

O’Hoppe’s offensive performance included two home runs and three runs batted in. His second-inning two-run shot traveled an estimated 470 feet, the longest of the game, and gave the Angels an early lead. He added a solo homer in the fourth inning, bringing his season total to 13. The 24-year-old has now homered three times over the last two games.

Jo Adell followed O’Hoppe in the fourth inning with his sixth home run of the year, while Zach Neto launched a two-run homer in the third inning, shifting the momentum in favor of Los Angeles. The Angels have hit at least one home run in 11 consecutive games and totaled 15 homers over their past six contests.

Taylor Ward and Jorge Soler also contributed with three hits apiece. Ward finished a home run short of the cycle, collecting a triple and a double, while Soler added two doubles and drove in two runs. The Angels produced five separate two-run innings, showcasing a balanced offensive attack.

The game was played at Sutter Health Park, the Athletics’ temporary home, and all four of the Angels’ home runs traveled over 400 feet. The club entered the game as slight betting favorites, listed around -115 on the moneyline, while Oakland was a near-even underdog at +105.

Oakland starter JP Sears (4-4) struggled, giving up six runs on eight hits over five innings. He surrendered a career-high four home runs. The Athletics, who have dropped eight straight games, outscored 62-21 during that stretch and left 13 runners on base Wednesday night.

Despite the loss, rookie Nick Kurtz provided some power for Oakland. After going deep in Tuesday’s contest, he hit two solo home runs, his third and fourth of the season. Lawrence Butler added a three-run home run in the third inning, bringing his season total to seven.

Oakland’s Tyler Soderstrom and Max Schuemann recorded three hits each. Jacob Wilson, who ranks third in the majors with a .341 batting average, was held out of the lineup after being hit by a pitch on the left forearm in Tuesday’s game.

Los Angeles reliever Héctor Neris (2-1) was credited with the win after working effectively in relief. The Angels’ bullpen managed to hold Oakland scoreless over the final four innings.

The four-game series will conclude Thursday. The Angels are scheduled to start left-hander Tyler Anderson, who carries a 2-1 record and a 3.04 earned run average. The Athletics will counter with right-hander Luis Severino, who enters with a 1-4 mark and a 4.22 ERA.
