With the start of Spring Training each year comes an initial wave of new MLB merchandise: caps, t-shirts, jerseys and more. This year also represents the first season of Nike taking over MLB’s on-field uniforms and apparel contract.

Meanwhile, New Era remains the official supplier of caps, and on Tuesday they unveiled what the Los Angeles Dodgers and other clubs will wear during Spring Training and for batting practice during the 2020 season.

The Dodgers Spring Training 59FIFTY fitted cap features the team’s embroidered “LA” logo on the front panel. New Era’s Batting Practice Collection introduces a new design that calls for an alternate logo to be placed inside the primary.

For the Dodgers, it entails their team name in the trademark cursive script being embroidered inside the “LA” logo. The alternate logo is also embroidered on the right side of the cap. New Era’s logo is emblazoned on the left, with MLB’s logo and a liquid chrome Arizona patch on the back.

Each MLB 59FIFTY cap is made of 100% polyester knit. For the regular season, the caps will essentially have the same look — with the only change being the removal of the Arizona patch that denotes their Camelback Ranch Spring Training home.

While caps the Dodges wear during the regular season have featured the “LA” logo, they introduced an alternate with a “D” written in cursive on the front panel. It then became their main Spring Training cap over each of the past three years.

The Dodgers open Spring Training camp when pitchers and catchers report Friday, Feb. 14. The first full-squad workout is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 18. L.A.’s Cactus League schedule begins Feb. 22, against the San Francisco Giants at Scottsdale Stadium.

Their first game at Camelback Ranch is the following afternoon against the Chicago Cubs. After breaking camp, the Dodgers return to Southern California for a game at Angel Stadium on Sunday, March 22. The three-game series then shifts to Dodger Stadium on March 23 and 24.

Including one contest against the Chicago White Sox as the designated road team, the Dodgers are playing 16 Cactus League games at Camelback Ranch. They play at Camelback Ranch on four of six Saturdays during February and March.
