Manager ejections and subsequent meltdowns have lessened in Major League Baseball this season. It seems like there hasn’t been one major moment where a manager has been ejected and just lost it.
Thankfully, the minor leagues are here to provide everything the fans need.
In the fifth inning, Joe Mikulik, manager of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans of the Carolina League, did not take kindly to his player being called out at home plate and went to argue his case with home plate umpire Adam Beck.
Beck would eject Mikulik and that’s when it all got crazy. Mikulik lost it, kicking dirt on the shoes of Beck before backing up the third base line and sliding into home plate himself.
Mikulik would then slide into home plate once more for good measure before taking off his shoes, hat and jersey and leaving them on home plate. It is truly something to behold. Check it out via the Salem Red Sox Youtube.
