The R.A. Dickey trade to the Toronto Blue Jays is getting closer to being finalized.
The Blue Jays were given a 72 hour window to work out a contract extension with Dickey, and according an initial report from Richard Griffin of the Toronto Star, it’s basically done.
Reportedly, the Jays have been able to agree on the extension with Dickey, likely for more than the $26 million, two years, he had been seeking from the Mets, but still a bargain for three years compared to recent free agents Anibal Sanchez, Zack Greinke and, assuming Dickey’s higher expected return, than Ryan Dempster.
The deal may actually be for less than the $26 million according a Ken Rosenthal source.

The trade would be then be official once Dickey passes his physical according to Rosenthal.
There are still a few pieces of the deal that haven’t been leaked, but so far the trade goes down as Dickey, Josh Thole and a prospect for Travis d’Arnaud, Noah Snydergaard, John Buck and a prospect.
