The injury news keeps piling up for the New York Yankees. After Alex Rodriguez and Curtis Granderson were both lost for the beginning portion of the 2013 season, news today broke that Mark Teixeira will be lost for eight to ten weeks. Jack Curry from the YES network broke the news earlier today,
Teixeira has strained right wrist and will miss 8 to 10 weeks.

Teixeira was in Arizona yesterday getting ready for the WBC, but heard a pop in his wrist when he was hitting off a tee. The Yankees options at first base include newcomers Kevin Youkilis and Travis Hafner, or they will look to the free agent market. This winter, the Yankees were in cost cutting mode and didn’t land any of the top free agents on the market. It will be interesting to see what their next step will be and how it will affect their playoff chances.
